With nearly two decades in bookkeeping, a scientist’s eye for systems, and a real-world business bookkeeping track record across industries, I bring a rare combination to business accounting: technical depth paired with genuine curiosity about how people and businesses actually work.
From my first office role as a receptionist over 20 years ago, to seasoned financial bookkeeper and forecaster today, I’ve built up the hands-on experience to understand your business challenges and create user-friendly bookkeeping and organizational solutions that actually work for you and your team.
A big fan of the road less travelled, my educational background started out in science, not finance. My early goal was to pursue medicine, while I worked in office administration, data entry, and bookkeeping on the side. After gaining a host of life experiences throughout my studies, a post-bachelor’s pivot from sights set on medicine and human care turned my growing hunger for organization and systems into a career built in finance and administration. I found my place and spent the next 15 years deep diving, learning, and honing my understanding of bookkeeping best practices, business growth barriers, financial levers, and the tools to make insights accessible.
From receptionist, to scientist, to CAO, what started as a drive to help people turned into a career built on exactly that. The scientific method, it turns out, works just as well on tangled business bookkeeping as it does in a lab or a doctor’s office.
Today, I apply my experience to help businesses untangle the outdated systems and processes that quietly (and sometimes not so quietly) hold their teams back. I’m less interested in quick fixes than in solutions that actually hold: tech forward while still being practical, human-focused, and built to last. Honesty and integrity guide every engagement, and years in the trenches mean I genuinely understand the day-to-day challenges my clients face.
Originally from beautiful British Columbia, I’ve travelled and worked with companies in provinces across Canada both remotely and in person. I fell in love with the stunning East Cost Maritimes, and thrive continuing to work with companies across the country.
Above all, I believe that the best solutions come from working with real people, not around them. Systems should serve the humans using them, not the other way around.
