In a city moving as fast as Halifax, the books can often be the first thing to slip. You mean to stay on top of them, but between clients, staff, and growth, “I’ll sort it later” turns into months of backlog and a year-end you’re dreading in your dreams every night. Read on if it feels like this is you and you might be ready for an experienced bookkeeper to take the load off your Halifax books.
Delinea Consulting takes the bookkeeping off your desk and gives you numbers you can actually run your business on. Clean books equal confident decisions.

Modern bookkeeping for a modern city
I’m Deanna Christensen, and Delinea operates through QuickBooks Online, so that your financial picture is always one login away, not locked in a folder until tax season. You see where your business stands whenever you want to look.
With nearly two decades of organizational and bookkeeping experience and an Advanced Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor credential, I don’t just record transactions. I build the systems that keep your books accurate with less effort from you, month after month.
How I help Halifax businesses
- Monthly bookkeeping — Every transaction sorted and every account reconciled on a regular cycle, so your numbers are always current.
- Catch-up & cleanup — Behind by months or years? I’ll bring your books back to accurate and up to date without the judgement.
- HST tracking — Nova Scotia’s 14% HST kept straight all year, so filing is accurate and on time.
- Payroll & contractor tracking — Whether it’s employees, subcontractors, or both, the money movement stays organized.
- QuickBooks setup & cleanup — A file that’s structured properly, producing reports you can rely on for real decisions.
- Reporting that informs decisions — Clear, plain-language financials that show what’s working and where your money is going.
At year-end, your books are clean and ready for your accountant. No last-minute reconstruction, no surprise cleanup invoice.
Remote from one Maritime city to another
I’m based in Saint John, New Brunswick. I travelled to the East Coast from Vancouver BC, fell hard for it, and never left (you can read more about my story here). I can’t claim to be a Haligonian, but I have real affection for Halifax as the heart that keeps this whole region beating, and a soft spot for the people putting in the work to build something there. I work with Halifax businesses entirely online, which means distance simply doesn’t matter. You get accurate, up-to-date books and the responsiveness you’d want from someone down the street, with nothing to drop off and no one driving paperwork anywhere. We connect by video and message, on your schedule.

- Genuinely modern — Advanced QBO certification and a fully cloud-based process built for how you actually work.
- Real reviews — Read what clients say in the reviews on this site.
How it works
- A relaxed intro call — We cover your business, your current books, and where things are getting stuck.
- A clear plan and price — You’ll know exactly what your books need and what it costs, up front.
- Clean books, every month — I do the bookkeeping; you get accurate numbers and your focus back.

FAQ’s
Pricing is based on your transaction volume and monthly needs, set as a flat monthly package rather than hourly. You’ll know the number before we start. No surprise invoices or creeping costs.
Yes — all of my work is done online through QuickBooks Online. Your books stay current and accessible at all times, and you get the same service quality. I’ve also worked remotely with companies and people across Canada for over 10 years, so I have the experience to make connecting remotely personal and painless.
Nova Scotia’s HST is 14% (reduced from 15% in April 2025). I keep it tracked correctly throughout the year so your remittances are accurate.
Yes! Financial puzzles are a passion project for me, so cleanup and catch-up are routine (and much more common than you think!). We start from wherever you are and get everything accurate and current, no judgment.
For year-end and corporate tax filing, usually yes. I keep your day-to-day books clean all year so your accountant’s work is faster and less expensive. The roles complement each other.
